The redeployment was carried out with the support of Akrocean by the Anteos Vessel on the 5<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;of September.&nbsp; The measurement equipment will provide additional high-precision wind data, crucial for accurately quantifying the potential of offshore wind energy and data to inform the final design of the offshore wind farm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The LiDAR system, positioned in the Ichnusa project area approximately 45km from the coastline, will passively monitor the atmosphere and collect vital data on wind speed, direction, atmospheric and ocean conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The floating LiDAR will operate for one year and is a continuation of the projects commitment to the development of sustainable energy in Sardinia.&nbsp; It will enhance the understanding of wind patterns in the Mediterranean Sea relating to energy generation resources, contributing to future wind farm projects and boosting clean energy production for the island and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ichnusa project is part of the Divento Energia consortium, which is leading the development of floating offshore wind in Italy with a pipeline of approximately 3GW in Italian waters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Find out more about the project <a href=\"https:\/\/diventoenergia.it\/en\/projects\/ichnusa-windpower\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"451\">here<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/diventoenergia.it\/progetti\/ichnusa-windpower\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"504\">.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Porto Scuso, Sardinia September 16, 2024 The Ichnusa Wind Power project announces successful redeployment of Floating Light Detection and Ranging \u201cFLiDAR\u201d for the Ichnusa floating offshore wind development off the coast of PortoScuso, Sardinia.
